FORMING SENSES is an augmented reality app that aims to translate sounds into shapes. The project was inspired by the perceptual phenomenon of synaesthesia. The app enables users to draw three-dimensionally in space and creates an artistic, performative link between their own senses, which finds its graphic expression on tablets or smartphones. The app was tested for the first time in an exhibition context as part of Summaery 2022 at the Bauhaus University Weimar. The posters designed for this were given the narrative of portals that were to provide the path to augmented reality. Each of these portals contained a sound, which could then be translated into shapes by the visitors.
